This means devs that cook up ROMs will have it much easier now. But I could be wrong about that, HTC is probably well and ready to attack Froyo and get it on their handsets as soon as possible. Likely soon. Now weather or not it will work remains to be seen, but it’s likely that this won’t phase Apple much. With more code to work with, great things will come from it. Well, it may not be the official release being pushed to handsets, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. To many users, this doesn’t mean much, besides that the release to devices is near. If you’re an Android hacker/modder, you’re probably in heaven right now.
If there are light tweaks to the UI, it shouldn’t take too long for a manufacturers’ dev team to get Froyo up and running, but HTC, for instance, may have it’s work cut out for them before releasing an update.

As we have previously mentioned, we are still working on Froyo release. Froyo OS is not officially released, it’s still in Beta.
5.0.8 for now, but once it’s all fixed up FroYo will be easy when the teamdouche crew finishes it
Vanilla froyo is kinda little bit dull without HTC Sense, plus all the widgets and deep Facebook & Twitter integration. But it’s faster now!

I’ve heard rumours of imminent htc sense froyo for desire, but not seen it yet. maybe it’s getting operator testing.

It’s simple. iOS4 is officially released, Froyo 2.2 is not. And good luck wishing for 2.2 if your Android phone is not the Nexus One
