Acoustic Guitar Reviews – 5 Easy Steps to Buy an Acoustic Guitar - December 21, 2010 by jamesdean

Nearly all projects as well as ambitions of any dimension or relevance involve a number of steps throughout a time period to complete. That is why you when buying an acoustic, you ought to browse acoustic guitar reviews. Anything the least bit complex needs preparation, know-how as well as determination through various steps over a period of time. This also applies to simpler tasks, like choosing to invest in a guitar. Listed below is how you can carry this out in only five easy steps.

Step 1. Use a budget. This is really crucial, because being aware of your budget range makes it possible to define some of the brands you may take into account. Different brands have different price ranges. If you neglect to do this step, you will probably be confronted with hundreds of different guitars and lose the overview. So try to come up with a budget and narrow down your search.

Step 2. Consider your playing ability. This can be an important step that may require your entire attention. Do it right in this manner: Get an acoustic guitar that suits your capability. It just does not sound right to buy a costly guitar when you are just starting out. You don’t know how long you’re going to stick to playing the guitar. A far more knowledgeable guitar player may well contemplate something from a higher budget range.

Step 3. Select the right wood. The idea is to consider the tonal characteristics of the several woods used for the building of a good acoustic. You need to understand that depending upon the particular wood, you’re going to have a unique signature sound. I suggest having a look on Acoustic Guitar Reviews (link at the end of this page) to find out more about the different tonal characteristics of guitar woods.

Step 4. Decide on your size. To explain and enhance upon that a little, the most well-known models are the Classic, Dreadnought, and Jumbo types.

Step 5. Will you amplify? In addition, ask yourself if you are going to amplify the sound of your guitar, as you’ll need to either have a pick up integrated, or get a hold of a mic.

In the end, those of you who have stuck with the above mentioned suggestions should be on your way to buy a good acoustic guitar and now can relax and relish the gains of that achievement. You should congratulate yourself and allow yourself to become pleased and somewhat proud. Now enjoy!

Guitar Building Plans - November 24, 2010 by jamesdean

A complete set of guitar building plans is a key element in the guitar building process. Consider the guitar building plan as your guide or road map, steering you though the guitar building process.

To the beginning guitar builder, this is of paramount interest.

Ultimately you will need only to casually consult a guitar plan or make your own notes, and improvements, to meet your own distinctive style. But, the plans will have served their role and they still will live on.

What You Should Look For in a Quality Guitar Building Plan:

Selection of the class of guitar would be your main step in the process. Choose from an electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or a classical guitar. But that is a rather fundamental conclusion.

The next step is not so simple and will take some decision-making on your part.

Variations in the Acoustic Guitar:

  • Shape of the Body
  • Bracing Patterns of the Back and Top
  • Body Size
  • Length of the Guitar Scale
  • Neck Length
  • Width of the Neck

Classical Guitar Variables:

  • Body Size Including Depth
  • Bracing Patterns of the Fan and Structural Braces
  • Length of the String Scale

For the Electric Guitar:

  • Body Variety – Hollow Body, Solid Body or Semi-Hollow Body
  • What is the Body Shape
  • Number and Type of Pickups
  • Scale Length

Next, and most significantly, you should determine the detail for the plans you are looking at.

Dimensions: Be sure to verify the quality and amount of dimensions on the plans. An added bonus for you can be the availability of both US and Metric dimensions on the plans.

Notations: Another sign of high-quality plans is the use of abundant notations. Leaving areas up to the digression of the budding guitar maker is often a formula for errors, and or missteps that will require a certain amount of reworking.

Cross Sections: Are there body and neck cross-sections included as part of the stock set of plans? Are the sections well documented with notes and dimensions? This is an added convenience for the luthier.

Layout of Braces: Do the plans indicate the brace diagrams for the top and the back bracing? If so, are there profile views that will allow you to paste the braces onto the brace stock?

Template Diagrams: Are template diagrams available for the plans you are considering? If you have template patterns available for your guitar plan, you should get them. Having a good set of quality templates saves a ton of time and makes your work very accurate. Templates that are most popular are: Side contours, bracing layouts, headpiece layout, fret spacing and more.

This last point is somewhat speculative, but can you tell the plans were put together with the same passion that a guitar maker would build his guitar?

Plans At Ultimate Guitar Building.com

Our plans easily meet or exceed all the points made in this article. You will get quality plans for a very reasonable price. If you wish more detail, visit our site and view the plans that we have available and quality level.

3 Easy Songs For New Guitar Beginners (Amuro Wesley) - November 16, 2010 by jamesdean

No matter how difficult playing guitar may be, most beginners will usually attempt to play one of their favourite songs. But what they do not realize is that apart from playing what they like most, that song they select must also suite their level, personality and style of play.

One tricky part about playing guitar – especially acoustic guitars is to finding not just the song you like but one that practically allows you to play properly with a few lessons be it through DVD, online or through class lessons.

By right, what you should be really looking for in a guitar song is one full of notes and chords that are easy to remember and play. That will allow your play to flow naturally and you being able to practise consistently because you are starting to enjoy the song.

Most importantly, it should not have complicated tones that will disrupt your rhythm of play.

Having said this, here are 3 great songs I recommended for you as guitar apprentices:

Wonderful Tonight

This is a great song by Eric Clapton as it uses mainly a few notes and has a really simple rift in between for simple challenge.

Most beginners like this song to start practising because of the fun and challenge they find in playing with. It also requires some string bending techniques but newbies found that to be exciting and challenging.

Smoke On The Water

This is the song well-loved by beginners with electric guitars for its famous guitar rift.

Moreover, it is a legendary classic that inspires even the most seasoned guitarists to play and modify into their style. They usually play on a G pentatonic scale.

Johnny B. Goode

If you watched all 3 Back To The Future movies in the 80s and 90s, you should know who Michael J Fox is.

In the first two movies, he was performing a song called Johnny B. Goode with the Starlighters to liven the 50s atmosphere.

Using his techniques, you also can perform for your family and friends on their birthdays or special occasions and be just as if not better than Michael J Fox.

The 12 Bar Blues Chord progression is simple to master because it is centred on A, D and E chords.

But for complete beginners – especially those with acoustic guitars, it may be tough initially. However once they grasped the whole concept, it will be very rewarding as they not only can make it their favourite hobby but can also build a new career from there.

Ultimately what you really need is strong foundation of the guitar basics, fundamentals and consistent practice before achieving a certain level of competency to play one or more songs.

Before internet, you need to sign up for classes at schools or community clubs to learn. Now with internet, you can sign up online and learn from videos.

Things to Consider When Buying Guitar Amps by Alex P David - November 14, 2010 by jamesdean

Guitar is one of the musical instruments loved by most of the music lovers and guitar amp is nothing but an electronic speaker which is prepared to make the indicator of an acoustic guitar much louder so that it can make an echo through it. Amplifiers also change the tone of instruments by stressing or de-stressing some frequencies and adding up electronic effects.

However, if the amp is not in good quality then it will not be as much effective as it should be. Hence you have to be very careful while purchasing it. Whether this is your first or fifth guitar but you have to know some basic things about it. Followings are some of the guidelines to help you when you are going to buy quality guitar amp:

It is essential to know some factors prior to buying a guitar amp such as: your budget that you have arranged to spend, the type of sound that you usually play, what is the style of music that you will be playing mostly, the amp that your are going to buy will be used mainly for practice or lively used in studio, and if lively used then what is the size location where you will be playing and so on.

When it comes to guitar amps there are some famous companies like Marshall, Akai, Alesis and M-audio known for their standard in live and in the studio. The amps designed by these corporations are well known for their simplicity and quality. They can be used for multipurpose and you can play almost every style of music on them. These companies generally will design 3 styles of amps and out of them first is a combo. A combo is a style that has all the powers, control and speaker in the similar package, hence it is named as combo.

This style generally doesn’t have more then one or two amplifiers and they come in a variety of size that varies from small to extra large. They are good for both purposes like home performance, live as well as studio settings. Though the size of speakers may vary but generally they range from 8″ to 12″. They are generally easier to transfer or move around and they are lightest in weight out of three styles. Habitually, they make little or no noise compare to the larger one and which is fine for practice.

The amp heads typically used around the identical size and hold a variety of controls. The head is nothing but the brain of the amp and without the head speakers will not work and without speaker head will not work. The next is full stack that is another speaker cabinet added to a half stack, hence one head and 2 speakers cabinets each side or generally mounted on the top of each other.

Buy Acoustic Guitar – Make The Best Possible Choice And Purchase - November 12, 2010 by jamesdean

Just as learning guitar playing is no fun, so is the task to buy acoustic guitar of most appropriate quality. There are many intricate details hidden that have to be taken care of while making the purchase as the instruments would be with you for many years to come ahead. One cannot just go by the looks and appearance but would have to be smart enough to consider some other relevant details as well.

Here are some pertinent suggestions that would help a great deal in selecting the right kind of guitar anytime and anywhere…

When you go to buy an acoustic guitar, don’t just grab it mindlessly and pay for it to take home. The looks are the last factor that needs to be considered before buying an acoustic guitar. Considerable attention has to be paid towards the factors such as the quality of wood used; and the extent of hollowness of guitar’s body. These two things are important constituents of a guitar unlike an electronic guitar that has effect-box mixer to take care of its sound quality.

Many individuals decide to buy a second hand guitar in order to save whatever they can out of the deal. But even a second hand purchase needs to be conducted with equal care just as that of a first hand guitar. Its wood must not be in shambles with any cracks or holes. The condition of the strings should also be good enough so that they get sustained for at least some time and demand no change immediately after the purchase.

The buyer has to exercise even more care and consideration if the first guitar has to be purchased. Since there are galore of qualities of a guitar, it is best to try a one before actually buying it to understand its actual sound quality. If guitar is to be purchased from an online store, the amateurs must take the benefit of some experienced individual who has earlier purchased an acoustic guitar, especially from an online store.

Those who have a passion for guitar playing must not think twice in spending some more money to buy a guitar of higher quality. They may cost on a little higher side but would be a worthy investment for buying a good acoustic guitar. As the guitarist would play the purchased a guitar over the time, the sound quality would keep on getting improved thus sounding better every time it is played.

Daydreams Of Acoustic Guitar And More - November 9, 2010 by jamesdean

I have yearned for acoustic guitar lessons for so long it already slips into my subconscious mind. I can almost feel the curve of the guitar snugly fitted into my chest, the strings vibrating to a tentative strum, the pulsating tune slowly billowing out from the instrument. I have watched musicians lose themselves in the moment whenever they start to play and I wondered how it felt like to be one with the music you are creating.

It didn’t take long before I found out for myself. Just when all this seemed like a far-fetched idea, everything came into place. I saw my classmates huddled up under a big acacia tree one school day and I got curious enough to approach them. And it was then that I saw him – my seatmate, holding close to his body the acoustic guitar I have secretly been pining for in a local music shop. I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears – here was this very seatmate who annoyed me during my daydream moments about having acoustic guitar lessons, playing the instrument I so loved to learn how to play the most, and playing it well.

I admit I was mesmerized. Gone were all the negative vibes I harbored towards him. Seeing him play like the acoustic musicians I have long admired made me feel like I’m a bit closer to my dream than ever before. “He plays my favorite songs well”, I heard myself whisper. Even if I was watching from afar, I could tell that it took him years to perfect whatever it is that he does and I suddenly admired him for all the years of discipline he went through in order to play the acoustic guitar so well.

I was drawn from my reverie when I saw five pairs of eyes suddenly fixed on my dreamy smile. I suddenly wiped the smile out of my face and said “You play well”, before storming out. What was I thinking? I managed to look like a total fool. But oh, the melody, the rhythm, the beat: how can I forget it? And that’s when it hit me: I have to have acoustic guitar lessons, even if I only have to play for myself.

I never felt him approach me nor hear his footsteps slowly echoing mine. I almost shrieked when he tapped on my shoulder. “I could give you one”, he said nonchalantly. “Huh?” I heard myself mutter. “I overheard you mumbling to yourself about having some acoustic guitar lessons and I thought I could help you out on that if you’d let me”, he said. I was stunned. He seemed to read my thoughts too well, I only mustered enough courage to nod my head and say “Ok” before we stopped on the nearest park bench and began his impromptu acoustic guitar lessons.

To date, my seatmate and I now play together almost every single day. Our thirst for music is quenched for every second that we hold our acoustic guitars, for every minute we spend playing them, for every hour that we’re together, collaborating and having a great time. I now have someone I could share my thoughts with, have someone to play with, have someone to dream with. For after all these years of friendship, I now have someone who I can say is my partner in life whom I can collaborate with on all aspects. A partner I never went out in search of but have found me by fulfilling a very simple dream. And I have those acoustic guitar lessons to truly thank for, not just for the skill with which I have right now, but by finding the soul mate I never thought existed, until now.

All over the world, the guitar is the most common used musical instrument. One type of guitar is the acoustic guitar. It is the most common musical instrument used by people in all walks of life. These are artists, common people and even die hard musicians. Learning how to play the musical instrument may seem difficult but it isn’t. Like any other thing that needs to be learned, it needs patience, determination and inspiration to master it. When you have the three components, then you are 100% ready to learn how to play the acoustic guitar.

The stringed instrument somewhat brings magic into one’s life. It is common even way back that the instrument being used to court a girl is an acoustic guitar. Tips for Mastering Different Blues Guitar Styles (Ali Razaa) - October 28, 2010 by jamesdean

The greatest difficulty that many face when it comes to mastering blues guitar styles has to do with the sheer numbers of them. This style of play is actually renowned as one of the most diversified ones, containing hundreds of sub-categories of play. However, there are a few general rules that when mastered can help one in developing their skill in practically all avenues of this hobby or career.

The first and most important secret towards success in this type of music-making is to let it express true feeling. Unlike most other areas of expertise, what matters most here is not the technique but rather the passion. Emotion is actually the feature that sets the category apart from others.

By letting the music emanate from your heart, basing the art on real life experiences and situations, one should be able to improve on their skill gradually. After a period of practice, you can incorporate chords that are more difficult into the mode of play, and watch yourself rise to glory.

Getting acquainted with the general rhythm of blues guitar styles is another helpful tip for a novice. A common theme in most of these styles adheres to the heartbeat and this should be the easiest guide to helping one to play good music. The timing in most of the sub-categories here is 4/4 and due to its ease of play, a bit of practice is all you need.

You have to learn the different licks that apply to different modes of play in this sub-class. After getting acquainted with them, it would be more effective to pick the ones that seem easy and start out with them other than learning them in chronological order.

Once you become good in these few licks, chances are that your general mastery of the instrument will have improved as it all takes a lot of experimentation and discovery. This will set a good foundation, paving the way for you to start on the more complicated ones. A good method for studying licks is by observing and imitating professionals doing what they do best. There may be particular artistes who impress you in the different blues guitar styles. Learn from these masters and with time, personalize the acquired skills.

One final thing that every successful learner has to master is the blues scale. It is a simple pattern made up of 6 notes and is therefore easy to learn.

Mark Etinger writes Professional Audio Equipment News: The Jammin Pro Acoustic 505 Guitar - October 21, 2010 by jamesdean

For those into making music, one of the hardest parts of the process is getting your music recorded. It is a dream of many musicians to hear the songs they wrote and arranged, played back for them on a pristine track. Well thanks to the advancement of recording technology, budding musicians can make studio quality recordings from home with little more than a PC or laptop. How is this possible? The Jammin Pro Acoustic 505 Guitar. If you’re unfamiliar with this all-new instrument, it essentially streamlines the recording process by allowing you to plug a USB right to your computer. This means the musician will spend less time setting up complicated professional audio equipment, and more time doing what they love–playing and recording music. Here is a little more information on this innovation in music and professional audio equipment.

-The Jammin Pro Acoustic 505 is an acoustic guitar with a built in USB port, allowing the player to plug into their computer and record every strum. This totally takes away the need for microphones, wires, cables, and all of those other professional audio equipment items that can really weigh a musician down. Thanks to the Jammin Pro Acoustic 505 Guitar, musicians can record each note directly from instrument to mp3.

-The secret to the easy recording process is the Magix Music Maker LE software that allows one to transform their Mac or PC into a mobile recording studio. This user-friendly software loads onto a Mac or PC and works as the sound engineer, recording every chord, every note with extreme clarity. The musician can even create use mp3 backing for tracks to really layer a song. If the musician is working on a Mac and wants to use GarageBand instead, the Acoustic 505 Guitar is compatible with that as well. In addition to GarageBand compatibility, the Acoustic 505 Guitar is also compatible with Cubase, Protools, Cakewalk and many others.

-The guitar itself works as a standard acoustic and an electro acoustic. It has a built-in 4-band equalizer and a built-in tuner as well. This beautiful instrument has a standard cutaway, solid Linden back and sides with a spruce top. The beautiful 20 fret, fret board is rosewood and the bridge is rosewood as well. Another stand-out feature is the built in LCD tuner above the pre-amp. The USB is even included for the music maker’s convenience. If the musician prefers the sound of their Acoustic 505 Guitar in an amp, but still wants to record, it’s no problem–the XLR output can be connected to the mixing console and the USB can be connected to the computer simultaneously.

-The output is a balanced XLR and also an Unbalanced JACKS, which gives the musician the option of recording via USB or monitoring the sound with active monitor speakers.

-The pre-amp EQ is powered by a 9V battery, so all the musician needs to get playing and recording is a battery.

Streamlining the recording process is something that many serious musicians value, so it’s only natural to expect the Jammin Pro Acoustic 505 Guitar to be a huge hit in the industry.

DiscoverChoosing the Best Guitar Strings - October 15, 2010 by jamesdean

A musician’s natural talent in playing an instrument ultimately suggests how their instrument will sound. But along the way, a musician should still consider choosing the right equipment. A cheap electric or acoustic guitar with bad strings rarely sounds good compared to quality strings with branded guitars. The idea that musicians are only as good as their instruments is not necessarily true but the using the best guitar strings will significantly help any guitar player especially beginners.

Going for Quality

If there’s one thing every beginner should know about selecting the best strings for a guitar for their skill level is that they should never hold back in quality. When you purchase string sets for the first time, note that a good branded string is not just considered for their popularity. When you go for a popular brand, you ensure that the sound of your guitar will easily reach its peak quality. Here’s an example, consider a cheap nylon guitar string against the D’Addario guitar strings of the same type. At first you’ll enjoy the savings but after a few weeks with cheap strings, you’ll notice that the sound becomes dull and you constantly have to check if the guitar is properly tuned. For D’Addario, you’ll enjoy optimal tone which will last for months.

Quality Sound as Motivators

Considering quality over cheap acoustic guitar string imitations is also the same for brands such as Elixir guitar strings, Ernie Ball and DR guitar strings. But here’s another secret why you have to choose popular strings: when you hear yourself play for the first few times, you expect something good will come out after weeks of practice. It’s a bit foolish to expect a masterpiece after a few sessions but you want to at least sound good to be motivated. When you select the “best guitar strings” in the market you can be sure that you’ll sound good as long as you have the basics covered. When you hear yourself playing good, you’ll be motivated to be better.

Learn from Professionals

If you want proof why you have to consider good, quality strings, listen to the masters. Pick any band with great guitar players and research on the strings they prefer. No one will say that they just pick cheap electric guitar strings and go with it. They will always have a brand that sponsors them and they sound amazing. You can also ask your guitar teacher or anyone who knows how to play guitar which strings to consider and they will always answer with a specific brand. If you want to be a good guitar player, always go with a brand as they are the best guitar strings.

DiscoverYamaha Silent Guitar Review - October 11, 2010 by jamesdean

Hey All,

Here is a quick Yamaha silent guitar review to give you an idea of the good things (and the bad) about this cool little guitar from Yamaha.

I’ve been playing guitar for about 16 years, I’ve got a university degree and have studied with some of the best classical and fingerstyle guitarists in the world so needless to say I practice quite a bit.

Up until about 5 years ago this was no problem, I was living in the country in a large house and I could practice well into the morning hours without any complaints from neighbors etc… Then I decided to make a move to the city, mainly because of the opportunities for gigs and of course ended up moving into an apartment. Needless to say if you’ve ever lived in a basic apartment you know that the walls can be somewhat thin and sure enough my neighbors weren’t too crazy on the idea of me practicing scales at 2AM!

Enter the Yamaha Silent Guitar!

This thing has literally saved my butt on many occasions, with deadlines coming up for a gig and needing to practice well into the evening I simply take out my trusty headphones, plug them into the jack, turn up the volume on the guitar and away we go. The Yamaha SG100N Silent Guitar is absolutely excellent for late night practice sessions and with the ability to take it apart for storage or travel (that’s right!) it’s definitely a must have for any guitarist that does a lot of travelling!

The on-board pickup system has a volume control and your standard bass/treb controls which do a good job of allowing you to dial in a tone to your liking and the on-board reverb is an absolutely excellent feature! It sounds like your playing in a beautiful church coming right through the headphones! Playability is excellent and you can achieve a great variety of tonal colors by moving between the bridge and the neck with your plucking hand.

A lot of people ask me if it is difficult to play sitting in a classical position. The answer is – NO. I was very surprised because I assumed the same thing as most people when I first saw this guitar but it is actually very comfortable to play seated in a proper classical position as well as when played on your right leg. You can also use the optional strap buttons and walk around the house which is really cool!

My main gripe about the guitar would be that the bass response (on my instrument anyways) is a little lacking overall and I tend to have to pump up the bass control to get the sound that I’m after. I think Yamaha could do a slightly better job with the pickup system over all but then again it was only 600 bucks so it’s pretty hard to knock them for this. It’s definitely not a deal-breaker and really only a minor gripe more than anything.

In closing, if you like to practice late at night without disturbing your neighbors or girlfriend, need a guitar that is easy to travel with, or just like really cool looking new toys than I would definitely suggest that you take a strong look at the Yamaha Silent Guitar!

For guitar scale mastery, here are some tips that will help you make it a fast and easy experience.

Start learning the pentatonic scale firs. This is a lot easier than learning the major scales as it does have simpler patterns than the major scale. One thing you can do with the pentatonic scale is to memorize a few patterns, memorize one at a time, and practice it constantly. You can also learn practice this by picking songs that have the pentatonic melody and use it as a your piece in practicing the guitar scale.

Keep in mind that even though you may not like the sound of the scales, or they may sound boring to you especially if you are just starting practicing with it, it is important to deal with it. Later on, you will find it all rewarding when you find it amazing to play the guitar if you have knowledge with the scales.

Do the same technique in learning the major scale. Learn and memorize them one by one until you master them. Grab a scale reference guide to help you with all these practicing. You can even get a great video tutorial that will guide you through the finger placement as well as the sound that you have to produce.

Use the metronome. The metronome can be a simple tool but it is a very useful tool that can help you with guitar scale mastery as well as in practicing guitar techniques by helping you with the proper timing.

It is also important to know some techniques or formula to master the scales. Learn from the experts if you can. Of course, having friends to practice with you can also be a great way of making guitar learning a fun and enjoyable thing.

My Guidance Counselor Practically Said, “Learn To Play Guitar” – How I Discovered My Dream - September 21, 2010 by jamesdean

“Learn to play guitar?” It was more of question coming from my guidance counselor’s lips, but for me it was a statement – a fact. I knew for certain that someday I was destined to learn how to play a guitar and play it great. The entire day rings clearly in my mind and I’ll never forget it.

How I Came To Realize My Destiny

It was my junior year of high school. The second semester had just started and I was fairly excited. My time for taking the coveted career assessment test happened to fall upon the hour I was supposed to take a physics test. It was a no brainer. I knew my destiny was not to be a physicist so I owed it to my future to investigate my options. I approached the study hall room, checked in with my counselor, and took my seat.

I will admit that I had a few snickers when it came to a lot of the questions on that career assessment test. They all had to do with solid structure and there was nothing that suggested any bit of creativity (or the kind I had). My fingers tapped on the desk to the rhythmic tune of Steve Vai in the movie Crossroads. Then it happened, it was almost like my fingers had willed it with their call to the fake guitar strings on the study hall desk. I found the question, “Do you like music?” I used my No. 2 pencil and scribbled in the YES oval precisely and pressed down so hard I broke the tip.

After sharpening my pencil I went back to my career test. I was a bit more invigorated and completed it quickly. It does take a few weeks to get the results of the test and find them out. My career counselor called me down to go over “my options”. That’s when I heard my top three choices: 1) Music teacher; 2) Luthier; 3) Construction worker. Music teacher made me laugh, construction worker was out of the question, but I didn’t even know what a Luthier was. I asked and my counselor told me that she hadn’t known either. It certainly had never shown up on a career assessment before. A Luthier was a person who designed, constructed, and repaired guitars. I couldn’t help but wonder if Steve Vai had sent me some sort of message from the Crossroads.

Denying my destiny

Every bit of me wanted to start those guitar lessons right away. I dreamed of being the go to guy of the best known guitarists in the world. The dream went on the back burner quickly when I found out that I couldn’t afford guitar lessons and my parents certainly were not going to use my college fund to pay for them. I ended up going to school for drafting. I did really great at it and drafted my way into a great life as an adult. Now I am a professional drafter, father of three, and a husband to a great wife. I’m not sure if you guessed it yet, but there is no master guitar player in me at this point. I can’t even strum a tune on my kid’s ukulele from our trip to Hawaii.

Thank you destiny for not giving up on me

I love everything about my life, but have always wanted to learn to play guitar. Maybe it’s my love of music or maybe it’s a desire to hold on to a rock and roll dream. It really doesn’t matter. Guess why? Because I found out that I do have the time to learn guitar and I am great at it. What makes it even better is that I didn’t have to enroll in completely expensive private lessons to do it. I am taking lessons from home and have access to everything I need from that spot. After my kids go to bed for the night I kick back and start strumming my Steve Vai replica from the movie Crossroads. My kids and wife have taken an interest, but they get more joy out of watching me have such a great time learning guitar. They all know I’ve always wanted to do it.

The proof is in

I am so lucky to have found the ideal website to help get me started on my goal of learning to play the guitar. These are the things I considered when making the choice: 1) Easy to use; 2) Affordable; 3) Really teaches me.

There is no way to use words to say how happy I am that I finally learned to play a guitar. I always wanted to do it and finally realized that I should – there were no reasons or excuses left to hold me back. Today, my dreams of days past have changed my old guidance counselor’s statement from a question mark to a huge exclamation, “Learn to play guitar!”
