Have you ever had a performance where you were just completely OFF pitch, you get nervous and flustered during the performance. You can never get back that one note, and it’s incredibly frustrating because you know you’re better than that. It is not something you want to repeat again. In fact, most people aren’t even aware if they sing on pitch or not; the sound of their own voice may be distorted.

Learning to control your pitch and developing a better singing voice is NOT difficult as long as you have the right guidance and teachings. However if you’re tired of reading endless books and articles on breathing and voice exercises, it’s time to stop.

Having a live instructor to demonstrate techniques or even watching a full motion video and audio has proven to be TWICE as affective as reading. No matter what you do, involving a visual and audio aid helps your mind subconsciously adjust to the sound you hear and sights you see. What happens is, when you hear the perfect pitch you want to achieve over and over again, your brain will slowly tune the rest of your body to mimic it. Same when it comes to a certain physical technique, such as posture, breathing. Add that with consistent practice and you will be hitting that incredible note with power and volume in no time.

One of the most popular and proven methods for learning to sing (for beginners) or improving your vocal range (for intermediate) is using visual and audio demonstrations. This can be in the form of a singing coach, or using online video courses and DVD sets. However do not always assume all programs are made equal, it’d be wise to choose one produced by a singing coach who’s had success and proven track record with their clients.

The number 1 way to improve is to watch, listen, learn and practice. A good singing program with a good coach will make all the difference between performing on stage or in a karaoke bar.
