After the song’s official debut in September, Smith, daughter of actor Will Smith, signed a record deal with Jay-Z and his label Roc Nation. Get the streamers and those ridiculous glittery glasses ready. It’s not the last bit of holiday spirit that we’ll see from Willow.

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2011″ is set to ring in the New Year with a star-studded lineup. Willow Smith is taking after her famous father more and more each day as she follows the road to musical stardom. The catchy beat really started to make some noise after its viral release on Oct. 26, when it was able to capture audience attention with its colorful video. “A couple of my friends were talking about it, so I watched it on YouTube,” said Sarah McClellan, 19, kinesiology major. “ I think it’s a pretty dope video. Millions tune in every year to watch the iconic ball drop. The musical and holiday celebration, which kicks off at 10 p.m. Smith first made headlines for her red-carpet fashion.

Larry Klein, the show’s producer, told interview that McCarthy will be a great supplement to Seacrest and Clark. A consistent reaction from her audience is approval of subject matter. “Better that she is dancing around whipping paint onto walls with her hair than, you know, grinding up against boys when she’s 9 years old,” said Rebecca Tucker, 20, a musical theatre major. “Jenny McCarthy is a great addition to this year’s show,” Larry Klein, producer of the show, told MTV. And she had every right to be happy last night. Martinez also has doubts about her talent. “They’re calling her the next Rihanna,” said Martinez. “Her voice is really good for a 9 year old. McClellan is eager to find out what’s next for Smith and is looking forward to her future in music. “The fact that she can sing and dance… it’s because not very many artists can do both,” McClellan said. “It’s very interesting to see where she will go from here.”
