Thursday’s hearing was consistent with others that were held in February, May, and August since he received a positive progress assessment once again. “Of all probationers I’ve ever had, and I’ve had thousands of probationers, no one has ever done a better or more consistent job than you have,” Judge Schnegg told Brown. “And I really want to commend you for taking responsibility, and for actually working diligently to complete all of the things the court has required of you.” According to MTV , the terms of the singer’s probation specified that he was responsible for 180 days of community labor and up to one year of domestic violence counseling. To the shock and disgust of many vocal critics, Brown did not land in jail allegedly beating Rihanna during an argument a few years ago. Most thought it was too light a sentence, and that it would send the wrong message to his young, impressionable fans. Schnegg’s praise is consistent with other hearings in which the singer has received a positive progress assessment . Under the terms of Brown’s five-year probation sentence in 2009, the singer is responsible for 180 days of community labor and required to attend domestic-violence counseling for up to one year.
