T.I. has touched many people with his lyrics and on Wednesday (October 13), the MC’s words may have saved a life. A young man who threatened to jump off an Atlanta building was coaxed out of committing suicide with the help of the superstar rapper. Meeting T.I. is a fate far better than death. T.I. may be in trouble with the law following his recent arrest, but that didn’t stop him from helping the cops talk a suicide jumper from a ledge. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a man ascended to the roof of a 22-story building on Peachtree Street just before 4 p.m., threatening to leap to his death. T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, talked to the man about how a person “can make it through anything,” Atlanta Police spokesman James Polite said. T.I. (born Clifford Harris) told NBC affiliate 11Alive News that he volunteered to help after hearing about the situation on the city’s V-103 radio station, which is housed in the Colony Square skyscraper, where the man was threatening to take his own life.
The man, whose name has not been released, agreed to come down in exchange for a few minutes face-to-face with T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris. The building houses urban radio station V103, home to host Ryan Cameron. When T.I. heard about the situation, he called Cameron to offer his assistance. T.I. has had a pretty rough year himself, spending time in prison on federal weapons charges and recently being arrested on suspicion of drug offenses last month in Los Angeles while on supervised release. Upon his arrival at the scene, he met with police and recorded a heartfelt video message which cops then played for the man on the roof. “Nothing is that bad,” Tip reportedly said in the video. “Nothing in life is worth taking your life. Polite added that authorities appreciated the help. Harris offered to help convince the man that “life’s not that bad,” a proposal that police accepted, he said.
“I just reminded him know that I know. For anyone else battling depression, T.I. may not be on call, but there are people willing to talk at 1-800-SUICIDE . “He didn’t have to stop. “He didn’t have to stop,” Atlanta PD Officer James Polite told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution .
It looks bad right now, but it can turn around.” T.I. said he heard about the situation on the radio and drove to the building to help.
The charges triggered Friday’s probation revocation hearing in Atlanta. He’s on supervised release after spending a year in prison on federal weapons charges. In 2008, Harris was sentenced on charges of unlawfully possessing firearms as a convicted felon. Authorities “didn’t want to take T.I. up to the roof, but with modern technology he shot a video message…and the police showed it to the guy,” says Cameron. T.I. reportedly expressed remorse to V-103 listeners for his recent slip-up and vowed to turn things around. What do you think of T.I.’s latest gesture?

T.I. is up to his good deeds again. With two days to go before he’s set to face a Federal magistrate who’ll decide if the Kang goes back to prison or not, today TIP reportedly talked an Atlanta man out of committing suicide. Police got unexpected help talking a suicidal man down from an Atlanta skyscraper when rapper T.I. showed up. Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently T.I. caught wind of the news regarding 21 year old man threatening to jump off a roof not far from the V 103 offices while listening to the radio. So how in the heck did T.I., who’s known more for his not-so-good deeds , end up saving the day? From there Tip made his way to the scene assisting in the situation. T.I.’s publicist says the Atlanta native heard about the situation on the radio and drove to the building to help.
