In Their Words: ‘”Malko” is a stab at compacting disparate musical elements into a concise and succinct format. We dabble across a lot of sonic territory, and ‘Malko’ is a good sampling of the darker side of the spectrum we typically occupy. It’s got a little of the late-night heart-of-the-city sleaze, a little bass-driven prog-punk, a nod to blown-out murky black metal, some deliberately painful bouts of noise, and it all wraps up with a big bottom-heavy riff.
