Lindsay Lohan Quits Inferno

Lindsay Lohan has quit her gig as the lead role, Linda Lovelace on the upcoming flick, Inferno .  Word has it that she wants to focus on getting better and that doing the movie wasn’t the right thing for her anymore. Lindsay Lohan won’t be playing 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace in “Inferno.” Writer-director Matthew Wilder said his production team is in negotiations with another actress and will make an announcement soon. Another day, another piece of seemingly bad news for Lindsay Lohan.

She won’t be doing the film. “Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her and some other issues have made it impossible for us to go forward.” Some media reports said the 24-year-old starlet quit to focus on her court-ordered rehab for drug addiction; others said Wilder wanted her replaced. We’re told Lindsay felt the project no longer felt right but that her and the director, Matthew Wilder, remain on good terms and hope to work together in the future.

The “Mean Girls” star is expected to be in rehab at the Betty Ford Center in California until at least Jan. 3.
