Michael Jackson’s mother has been given permission to proceed in her wrongful death lawsuit against concert promoter AEG Live. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos denied AEG’s attempt to dismiss Katherine Jackson’s case in court yesterday, though it was decided that her lawyers would need to show evidence of fraud, negligence and conspiracy to move forward. Palazuelos said that she had doubts about Jackson’s conspiracy charges, noting that AEG’s desire to have the singer show up for his rehearsals was not inherently wrong or illegal.

Dr Conrad Murray’s medical licence was also suspended by the judge. A judge in Los Angeles has ordered the personal doctor of Michael Jackson to stand trial over the singer’s death in 2009. Dr. Conrad Murray was caring for Jackson when he died of a drug overdose on June 25, 2009, age 50. However, everyone needs someone to blame and it looks like his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is most likely to be offered to the braying masses. During the course of the hearing, testimony was given that Murray ordered hundreds of bottles of propofol in the months before Jackson’s death. Murray has admitted giving the drugs to Jackson, but pleaded not guilty to the charge against him. Murray will indeed, stand trial for involuntary manslaughter.

Other damning testimony included that of Jackson’s bodyguard, who said that on the morning of the singer’s death, it appeared that Murray didn’t know how to administer CPR to his dying patient. He must be shitting his trousers right now. Given properly, it does not render patients unconscious, but they usually cannot remember the procedure. Murray is to return to court for arraignment Jan. 25 and is expected to again plead not guilty. But the judge was clear that he thought Jackson’s former personal physician may pose an “imminent danger” if allowed to keep his medical license. Jackson used the drug as a sleep aid. Murray’s attorney, Ed Chernoff, called the suspension the “nuclear option,” noting that Murray hadn’t practiced medicine in California since Jackson’s death.

Murray, 57, has pleaded not guilty, and his attorneys have argued that he did not give Jackson anything that should have killed him. The autopsy report said the amount of propofol found in Jackson’s system was equivalent to that used during anesthesia for major surgery. “If you do that, he’s dead in the water,” Chernoff said. Murray faces up to four years in prison if convicted. How lethal levels of propofol got into Jackson’s system was the focus of the final day of testimony in the case. Basically, a parade of people emerged, all talking about Murray nervously kicking needles and drugs under the rug, forgetting the number for 911, ballsing up CPR and generally going about his business in a way that would make Wile E. A judge will decide if there is enough evidence to charge him. John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of Jackson’s estate, accused Discovery of insensitivity toward the singer’s family in a letter Wednesday demanding that the company cancel plans for the program. Co-executors of the estate responded in their own statement saying they were “pleased” with the decision. “Discovery Channel made the correct decision in choosing to cancel this exploitative program.
