Car Hop Music – Bringing Back Memories
Car hops, as we’ve said before, are great ways to make a car show fun. If you are going to host a car hop, however, you need to plan ahead of time. There are a few different things to remember when hosting a car hop.
A good place to start with your planning is to decide the type of music you want to listen to. The 1950’s was the time of the car hop. Look for music from the 1950s that reflect that.
The type of music you play will make a difference with how the activity feels. It can make the atmosphere feel more specific. This can make an enormous difference in any activity.
Look for the type of music you would like. If you want Rock and Roll music stick to just those songs. Other sock hop music with out the rock beat can be another idea.
If you are searching for softer music start by looking at the early 50s. The rock beat hit the 50s around 1953, so that is a good place to start with your search for Rock and roll music. Having a specific year can make your search easier.
Some popular artists from back in the day were Bill Halley and the Comets. Elvis Presley, obviously, is another popular choice. My personal favorite is Buddy Holly, though there are plenty of other artists to choose from.
Find some nice outdoor sound systems to play the music from. When your server goes to their car windows you want something to be playing in the background. Test out the music system before the day of event and keep testing with sound checks up until the event to make sure you fix any feedback issues.
Music really does tie the 50s theme together. Once you have found the perfect music you can continue on to find good decorations, car hop costumes, food, etc.
