Facebook Twitter E-mail Lindsay Lohan may be making strides toward a healthy lifestyle, but it’s coming at a price. Lohan, 24, was ordered back to the Betty Ford Center on Friday instead of given more jail time, but the actress’s probation report raises questions about how much longer she can stay at the pricey desert facility. Lindsay Lohan’s poor state of financial affairs was revealed on Friday in a probation report after a Beverly Hills judge ordered her back to rehab, sparing her a return to jail. The probation officer wrote in the report: “She indicates she can not afford to continue to pay for the treatment program and she needs to work. Prior to Friday’s hearing, Lohan had requested that she move into outpatient care after her 30-day stay at Betty Ford ended this weekend. This will have kept her there for about three months; a 90-day stay typically costs $53,000. After Friday’s court session, defense attorney Jim Moret told reporters, “The judge said, ‘Lindsay Lohan, you are an addict. After being released from treatment, the starlet will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. “I’m not going to be manipulated.” The district attorney in the case had recommended that Lohan serve 180 days in county jail for her violation, but the judge preferred that she receive treatment until the end of the year and then be subject to drug testing between her release and her next court date on February 25. But a source tells PEOPLE Lohan has continued to work on her 6126 line from rehab, even having a concept meeting for her fall 2011 collection recently with her business partner Kristi Kaylor. “Lindsay is still seeing income from the line, and it’s doing three times better than originally expected,” the source says. There have long been reports that LiLo had been struggling financially, but this marks the first time that she has admitted to being strapped for cash.
“You are an addict and I’m not going to be manipulated,” he said. Lohan will be in rehab until January 3. Lohan appeared relieved she wouldn’t be back behind bars, Tracy says. “She’s in a rehabilitation program that’s known for its hardcore intense regimen, so this isn’t a cakewalk,” points out CBS News legal analyst Trent Copeland . And the judge seemed less concerned with her career getting off track than her life becoming a train wreck, Tracy observes. “The judge clearly recognizes she’s an addict,” legal analyst and former prosecutor Beth Karas remarked to “Early Show on Saturday Morning” co-anchor Chris Wragge , “and treatment is what she needs, and in-patient treatment is what she needs not to be out on a promise that she’s gonna do the right thing, because she keeps relapsing. Richman believes “she has a lot of growing up to do,” the report says. “She finally began to talk about feeling powerless and about being an addict …

Her estranged father, Michael, was in the courtroom but neither Lindsay nor her mother spoke to him. The supposedly shaky state of Lohan’s finances was revealed Friday in a probation report after a Beverly Hills judge ordered the drug-addled actress to go back into rehab – but spared her a stint in jail. “She indicates she can not afford to continue to pay for the treatment program and she needs to work,” the probation officer wrote. We’re not replacing her with another person,” ” Inferno ” director Matthew Wilder told the Daily News, who said he hoped to start production shortly after her release. “I hope you understand that,” to which Lohan reportedly nodded her head. “I don’t want another train wreck.” If, however, Lohan violates the terms of her probation from a pair of 2007 DUIs again, Fox said he would follow the prosecutor’s recommendations and lock the “Mean Girls” star up for six months. The paper reported that Lohan’s time at the Ford clinic appeared to have made an impression on Fox, as did reports from rehab and probation officials and a letter from the actress. “You are an addict, I hope you understand that,” Judge Elden Fox lectured Lohan in a calm but stern tone, adding he wouldn’t allow her “to have a train wreck in my courtroom. Lohan is on probation for a 2007 misdemeanor conviction on back-to-back DUIs.
Over the summer, Lohan spent 14 days in jail for missing alcohol education classes and then served 23 days of a 90-day inpatient rehab sentence. Lohan “doesn’t need to be punished, she needs to be treated,” her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley told the court.

She will also be subject to random drug testing after she leaves treatment until her Feb. 25 court date. You’re staying there past the New Year, and there’s a reason for that,” Fox told Lohan. A probation report kept Lindsay Lohan out of jail – and hopes to save her life.
Prosecutors wanted Lohan to be sent back to jail for six months for violating her probation on a 2007 offense for drunk driving and cocaine possession. Lindsay Lohan arriving at court for her probation violation hearing. – Splash News. “To continue the cycle of treatment program, violation, ensuing jail time, program, violation, does no good to her or the state of California,” Meyers said at the hearing.
Lohan must remain at the Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, Calif., until Jan. 3. Facebook Twitter E-mail She got a stern warning from the judge, but no more jail time – for now. If she then stays clean until a Feb. 25 hearing, she’ll get unsupervised probation. The probation report, crucial in helping the court reach that decision, makes it very clear that the star’s doctors think her treatment could ‘save her life’ – and that it was only after failing her drug test that she finally began to talk about feeling powerless and about being an addict. “She voluntarily went into treatment, and she chose a program that is known to be hard core,” Holley told the judge. “If you’re serous about your sobriety, your career and your future, you’ll do what needs to be done,” said Judge Elden Fox.
Psychotherapist Dr Lee Sadja, who says he thinks the star is a “wonderful young woman’, said when he started seeing Lindsay there was ‘some denial regarding her drug addiction’.
There’s a reason for that,” the judge said, drawing laughter in the courtroom. The judge told Lohan she is an addict and faced jail if she relapsed again. “The only way you are going to catch her attention is to put her in jail for 180 days,” Meyers said. “I don’t want another train wreck.” If, however, Lohan violates the terms of her probation from a pair of 2007 DUIs again, Fox said he would follow the prosecutor’s recommendations and lock the “Mean Girls” star up for six months. Lohan cried after hearing the sentence. I think you have to change your lifestyle,” he added, telling the “Mean Girls” actress that if she does not remain clean she would “destroy what is a very lucrative career and profession.” Lohan admitted in September she had tested positive, reportedly for cocaine, in a court-ordered drug screening shortly after being released early from a different rehabilitation program.
According to the report, Lohan began talking about “feeling powerless and about being an addict” to her chemical dependency counselor after her positive drug test in September, and is participating in a group on “improving self-esteem” at Betty Ford. She indicated to the probation officer that she was financially strained, saying she could not afford to continue to pay for the treatment and that her clothing line was falling apart because she was not available to monitor the product.

div class=”post” meebo:title=”Lindsay Lohan Judge Orders Her to Rehab” meebo:description=”Lindsay Lohan was just ordered back to rehab until at least January 3, 2011 no jail time. Lohan is due back in court on February 25. Lohan is due back in court on February 25. She will be subject to drug testing in between her release from rehab until her court date.
Fox’s ruling means Lohan will not be headed back to jail for her failed drug test, even though the judge previously threatened to sentence her for 30 days for each failed test. The judge also said that Lohan can take off her alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet, but must continue to take random drug and alcohol tests. The judge specifically stated he wanted Lindsay in rehab past the new year. After hearing Fox’s ruling, Lohan reportedly started crying and said “thank you.” Lohan arrived at the Beverly Hills court house just after 8 a.m. The judge said to Lindsay at one point, “You are an addict. She was dressed conservatively: black blazer, white t-shirt, hair pulled back. “You’re staying past the New Year’s — there’s a reason for that,” Fox said. Lohan must report back to court on Feb. 25, and comply with random drug testing.
The often-loquacious actress has avoided public statements since checking into rehab. (Her Twitter account hasn’t been updated since Sept. 26.) But that hasn’t stopped celebrities and members of her own family from weighing in on her woes. Fox’s sentence means Lohan will not be returning to a suburban Los Angeles women’s jail for a fourth time. On the red carpet of his AIDS Foundation fundraiser in New York earlier this week, Elton John told reporters that Lohan needs to swap “pampering” rehab centers for a no-holds-barred “boot camp” course of treatment. The judge had threatened to send Lohan to jail for 30 days for each drug test she skipped or failed. He ordered her held for nearly a month during a hearing in September, but another judge overturned his ruling and Lohan has been free on bail and in inpatient rehab voluntarily since then. For the sake of those I offended, I apologize and ask their forgiveness. … “You did write a letter to this court and I appreciate that,” Fox said. Lohan’s return to jail came after her admission that she failed a court-mandated drug test. “Epiphanies come in different ways and I’d like to think my taking you into custody at the last hearing contributed to that. Within weeks of her release from rehab, Lohan failed a drug test. “Relapse is a part of recovery,” she said. I would ask the court not to punish her.
Lindsay was in tears at the end of the hearing and simply told the judge, “Thank you.” Our reporter in the court said Lindsay showed off her SCRAM bracelet to her mother during the hearing and motioned as if she really wanted it removed. We’re told that will happen soon.

Lohan is due in court at about 8 a.m. Has she built a special prison annexe on her house which she sleeps in? Is there anyone who can keep up with history’s lamest criminal? The 24-year-old actress spent 14 days in jail in July for violating the terms of her 2007 DUI probation and was then made to undergo more than three weeks of intense, court-ordered drug rehab and months of regular random drug and alcohol tests. On the red carpet of his AIDS Foundation fundraiser in New York earlier this week, Elton John told reporters that Lohan needs to swap “pampering” rehab centers for a no-holds-barred “boot camp” course of treatment. Lohan tested positive for cocaine in a court-ordered drug test in September, which led to an arrest warrant for the actress. Oh we don’t know. The chances of that happening are about as remote as finding an ice-cube up a volcano’s arse. The courtroom has become a familiar setting for the “Mean Girls” star. Lohan’s return to jail came after her admission that she failed a court-mandated drug test.
If the actress admits the results are accurate (which she’s already done, publicly), then Fox could return her to jail. “Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before Judge Fox next week as a result,” Lohan wrote on her Twitter account on Sept. 18. Two months later she was arrested again in Santa Monica on suspicion of DUI and possession of cocaine. She agreed to plead no contest and was sentenced to a day in jail and three years probation.

Lindsay Lohan has checked into a Southern California rehab facility, where she will await her next court date. Hollywood’s wild child and troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan is in the news again. As expected, the actress is said to have voluntarily checked herself in for treatment another attempt to get clean and perhaps stay out of jail. According to Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan , he has been encouraging his daughter to check into a facility voluntarily – not particularly for the purpose of recovery from her addictions, but rather to impress the judge in her probation revocation hearing that she’s serious about turning her life around. It seems that if Lindsay does actually get better in rehab, that’ll just be a welcome side effect, a happy accident. The main goal seems to be to keep her out of jail so that hopefully she can get back to work and start paying off her growing mountain of legal costs. Sources on the movie told TMZ.com they are now planning to delay shooting the film until January and want to shoot in Los Angeles instead of Louisiana, where they would have received considerable tax breaks. Robin Sax, former Los Angeles County prosecutor, said, “If the judge is convinced that the root of her problem is a drug problem, he will likely continue on a course of rehab for her instead of sentencing her to additional time in jail.” After one judge ordered her held without bail until a court hearing next month, a second judge cleared the way for her release on $300,000 bail on several conditions including that she be fitted with an alcohol-monitoring bracelet within 24 hours of her release and refrain from drinking alcohol or possessing controlled substances.
