Rapper T.I. (né Clifford Harris Jr.), 29, and his wife, Tameka Cottle, 36, were arrested last night in L.A. after police detected marijuana coming from their car at a traffic stop in West Hollywood, confirms Deputy Luis Castro of the L.A.

Authorities subsequently searched T.I.’s car and arrested the couple for possession of a controlled substance. (Officials have so far declined to specify the drug involved.) T.I. and Cottle, who were married July 30, posted $10,000 bail and were released this morning. Looks like the legal trouble keeps mounting for T.I. . Tip, who celebrated the #1 debut of his film “Takers” last weekend, is on federal probation following a seven-month prison term he completed in March on weapons charges. “Well, I’m just ready to put the bad things behind me and look forward to the future and, you know, just move forward and evolve continue to evolve,” he told CNN’s Larry King this year. T.I. and his wife, Tameka Dianne Cottle, were held on $10,000 bail.

“Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” the department said. The Grammy-winning rapper is currently on parole after serving seven months behind bars on federal weapon charges. The department’s media office said it didn’t yet have details on which specific drug the possession charge concerned. The slammer isn’t the place for newlyweds. Bail was set at $10,000 each. T.I., the multiplatinum hitmaker who has a key role in the current top box office movie “Takers,” served seven months in an Arkansas federal prison and three months in a Georgia halfway house on federal weapons charges and was released in March. He is on three years’ probation.

T.I.’s label rep is not offering a statement at this time. The Grammy-winning rapper and sometime actor ( Takers , which he also produced, is currently No. 1 at the box office) is still on probation after serving seven months in prison last year for a weapons conviction.
